♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Norman Allen Basinger AKA “King of the Streets of Salisbury” who apparently has a tri-residency: the streets of Salisbury, S. Salisbury Avenue in Spencer, and 177 Renaissance PL, Statesville, NC., was the victim of a “robbery-knife” at 3:24 a.m. Saturday morning in the 200 Blk of N. Shaver Street.  Basinger faced off with a stranger wielding a knife and gave up $90 cash and his pocket knife (valued at $15.50).  Mercifully Basinger was not injured by the bladesman.  He is likely safe among the Salisbury’s fellow hunter-gathers beneath an I-85 bridge, in a shed of a radiator shop in Spencer, or ensconced in a tarp villa by the Town Creek.  Long live the “King of the Streets of Salisbury”.
