♦  An ACLU’s Thursday Press Release stated: “The U.S. Supreme Court announced today it will not review a ruling that found the county commissioners of Rowan County, North Carolina, violated the Constitution by coercing members of the public to join in prayers that overwhelmingly advanced beliefs specific to one religion.”

According to the ACLU press release, today’s U.S. Supreme Court decision means the Fourth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals July, 2017 ruling will stand.  The ruling was that Rowan County’s practice of prayer before county commission meetings was unconstitutional.  Rowan County has now exhausted all possible appeals in this matter.

Many Rowan County Christians will be greatly disappointed by today’s ruling.
