♦ Cars, vans, SUVs, and trucks are disappearing all over Salisbury at a record pace. It great to hear about one coming back in one piece. To increase your odds of your vehicle not being stolen, follow this simple maxim: “Don’t park your vehicle in any Salisbury parking lot. In fact if you can avoid driving into Salisbury period, do so. You might not want to bike or walk into Salisbury either if your don’t want to become a statistic. Even the big boys have trouble holding onto their vehicles. Auto Sales folks sometimes note vehicles disappearing mysteriously from their inventory. Such is life in a deeply troubled city where crime is virtually unchecked.

According to Salisbury Police Department sources Gerry Wood Auto Center, at 525 S. Jake Alexander Blvd, was the victim of a “motor vehicle theft-automobile” sometime between May 21st and June 2nd when a 2018 Burgundy Dodge Charger 4-Door Sedan, valued at $42,000 disappeared from their inventory.  The crime was reported to 911 Dispatch at 9 a.m. Monday.

Perhaps this prized vehicle is headed, sans its vin number, to a new home South of the Border or it may be sitting on cinder blocks in someone’s garage with its parts having been divvied up.  Or it may be covered-up by Kudzu Weeds somewhere off of Airport Road with a broken safe in its trunk.
