Salisbury: Man Assaulted with a Dangerous Weapon in the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Parking Lot Wednesday Night on Freeland Drive

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Barron R. Thomas, 47, of 1270 Jerico Lane in Lincolnton, N.C. was the victim of an “assault-other dangerous weapon” by a stranger in the Cracker Barrel parking lot at 1070 Freeland Drive on Wednesday night.  Thomas sustained minor injuries during the assault.  The crime was reported to 911 Dispatch at 10:19 P.M. and brought Salisbury Police vehicles into the lot.  The attacker slipped away.

According to legal definitions a dangerous weapon can be a weapon like club, a paving stone, an axe, a sledge hammer, a broken bottle, a rock, an explosive, or acid.

No motive for the assault on Barren has been provided and no suspects named at this time.
