Salisbury: Salisbury-Rowan Utilities Smart Water Meter Stolen from a W. 12th Street Home. Was this the Start of Smart Meter Activism?

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that the City of Salisbury AKA Rowan-Salisbury Utilities dwelling at 132 N. Main Street was the victim of “larceny-all other” when one of their smart water meters was stolen from a home at 401 W. 12th Street (and later found or returned). The value of the Smart Water Meter was assessed at $300.  The crime was reported Wednesday to 911 Dispatch at 11:26 a.m. and brought police to the property.

The motivation for stealing the Smart Water Meter has not been disclosed.  Although Staff suspects that someone likely got gouged by an increase in their water bill no confirmation.  Was this the start of Smart Meter Activism on the order of the opening cannon fire on Fort Sumptor, S.C.?
