Salisbury: Man Visciously Pistol Whipped into Giving Up his Nissan Altima Sedan to a Stranger Tuesday Afternoon on E. Bank Street

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Robert Christopher Thomas, 29, living at 429 E. Bank Street, was the victim of an “assault-gun”, “motor vehicle theft automobile”, and a “larceny-from motor vehicle” on Tuesday afternoon in front of his home when stranger came up on him with a handgun and pistol whipped him into giving up his car.  Thomas sustained severe lacerations during the assault and watched the stranger drive off with his 2005 Silver Nissan Altima 4 door sedan (Valued at $5,000) and his Apple IPhone 6 (Valued at $200).  The crime was reported to 911 Dispatch at 1:31 P.M. and Police vehicles soon filled up E. Bank Street by S. Shaver Street.

It is not known at the time of this report whether Mr. Thomas was inside his vehicle or outside it when the gunman commandeered the vehicle. If Mr. Thomas was inside the vehicle this crime would be called a “carjack”.
