♦ Salisbury, N.C.’s cascade of violence rises as warm weather settles in. Few days go by without a shooting, stabbing, or beating in the city’s many “have not” areas.  People are fearful of leaving their homes at night. It looks like a long and very hot summer.

According to Salisbury Police sources a stranger threatened Zachary Cambell, 59, living at 202 W. Miller at the intersection of W. Miller and N. Church Street, with a handgun prior to firing multiple rounds into Miller’s house and a nearby vehicle.  The shooting occurred at 5:58 a.m. Friday and damaged the exterior walls of Cambell’s residence.  Damage to the exterior walls was estimated at $150.  No record yet of vehicle damage although it was said to be hit by gunshots.  Mercifully no one was injured.  The Salisbury Police called the shooting incident “all other discharging firearm”.  The shooting remains under investigation.
