♦ Salisbury, N.C. has quite few drivers out there who drive with revoked licenses or none at all.  Every so often they become involved in dangerous high-speed pursuits to avoid arrest.  Quite a few drive while intoxicated and endanger other motorists and pedestrians.  Here is one such story.

According to Salisbury Police sources Ted Geter, 61, a convicted forger living on N. Salisbury Avenue in Spencer,  was arrested on N. Long Street Tuesday morning after allegedly eluding a license checkpoint on N. Long near Lauren Street and driving away .  Salisbury Police gave pursuit, catching up with Geter after he wrecked his car on the 400 block of N. Long Street.  Geter got out and started running away, but officers soon overtook him.  Handcuffed, Jeter was taken into custody and would shortly find himself under a secured $30,000 bond in the Rowan County Detention Center.
