Salisbury: Ashley Black Busted Wednesday Morning at a Traffic Checkpoint at S. Fulton St. and Mitchell Avenue for Crack Possession

♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Ashley Jermain Black, 33, a convicted felon living at 77 Walnut Street in China Grove, was arrested 4:36 a.m. at a police traffic checkpoint at the intersection of S. Fulton Street and Mitchell Avenue in one of the city’s most active crime and drug areas Fulton Heights.  Black, allegedly provided the fake name Marcus Black to officers to evade a probation warrant, soon found his legal troubles deepening when officers searched the driver’s side floorboard of his vehicle and allegedly found crack cocaine.  Black was handcuffed and taken into custody for the short jaunt to the magistrate’s office.

Under a secured $12,500 bond, Black is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
