Be on the alert and stay out of the area.  There is currently much police and Rowan County Sheriff’s Office activity in Downtown Salisbury.  If you hear sirens or hear helicopters overhead this is due to the escape.

The search for the escaped prisoner extends to a perimeter 50 miles in all direction from Salisbury.  This prisoner is considered dangerous.

If you see Smith or know his whereabouts please call 911.  Speed is urgent here.
