♦ People often forget that pilferage and break-in artists add to the high cost of doing business in many parts of Salisbury.  Convenience stores and supermarkets know this all too well with the tide of shoplifters helping themselves to goods inside the stores and break-in artists armed with rocks preying on vehicles in the parking lots.

According to Salisbury Police sources SV Discount, a popular neighborhood convenience store at 1621 Stokes Ferry Road, was the victim Friday of a “larceny–all other” when a thief snatched $969.71 cash out of a cash register and quickly faded from the premises.  That’s quite a hit for a small family run business.  The crime was reported to 911 Dispatch at 3:50 p.m.  No injuries were reported.
