♦ According to Salisbury Police sources Daniella Rhodes, 45, a Burger King employee living on Bringle Ferry Road in Salisbury, was the victim of a “robbery-strong arm no weapon”, “assault-gun”, and “assault-physical”, on Monday morning at the Happy Traveler Inn at 1420 E. Innes Street. Rhodes’ assailant physically assaulted her and threatened her with a gun, but never displayed it during the robbery.  The robber snatched a budget Touch cellphone (valued at $100), her NC Driver’s license, and a reloadable Paycard.  The cellphone was returned damaged along with ID, and Paycard. The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 2 a.m.

Rhodes, acquainted with her assailant, was shaken by the ordeal, but sustained no injuries according to Police sources.

Top part of the Salisbury Police Incident Report that clearly shows “assault-gun”. The threat of a gun without showing a gun is a common occurrence in hold-ups. We see this in drug store robberies, bank robberies, street stick-ups, and convenience store robberies. The threat vocally or through a note counts as an armed robbery or “assault-gun”:
