Updated! Salisbury: Young Man Stabbed Sunday During Fight on Tabernacle Street and Transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital

♦ Salisbury Police Department sources report that Shane Kamel Charles, 16, of Grant Street in E. Spencer, was stabbed during a fight in the parking lot of Building 18 at 1307 Tabernacle Street at approximately 11 a.m.  Charles and another male were embroiled in an altercation when a man pulled a knife and stabbed Charles in the stomach.

Police arrived quickly on the scene along with EMS.  Charles was transported to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, N.C. where he underwent surgery.   It is reported Charles was conscious, alert, and talking at the scene. His current condition is unknown. He is expected to live. Allegedly he has been uncooperative with investigators.
