♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Gregory Basinger, 56, of Rodden Road in Woodleaf, got a dose of Salisbury hospitality when he was the victim of a “larceny-from a motor vehicle” in Winks BBQ parking lot at 509 Faith Road on New Years morning.  The thief likely expecting small change, must’ve felt his central nervous system go “boing” when he discovered he landed $6,300 in cash after breaking a Toyota Camry’s side window.  One man’s jackpot was another man’s most expensive breakfast ever.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 11:21 a.m.

Perhaps local law enforcement might put a scare in the roving packs of vehicle break-in artists by jerry-rigging beaters with car bombs in lots around the city and pasting NRA Stickers on them as attractants. Nothing quite like phantom limb pain when the miscreant wakes up a year later after a dozen reconstructive surgeries and a prosthetic nose job. OK maybe a bit too inhumane a tactic.

No Suspects named yet.
