Updated! Salisbury: Man Shot Thursday Afternoon at 115 E. 11th Street Across from Henderson Independent School

♦ Salisbury Police sources report Quandaus Zave Gaither, 19, of 913 Poplar Street was shot outside a house on 115 E. 11th Street in Salisbury across from the Henderson Independent School.  The shooting was reported to 911 dispatch at 1:30 p.m. and brought police quickly into the area.  Gaither was said to have non-life threatening back wound and was transported by an ambulance to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for treatment. At the scene of the shooting he was said to be talking and responsive. A handgun was employed in the shooting.

Neighbors report an altercation took place prior to the shooting.

Police and emergency vehicles clog the streets around 115 E. 11th Street:

E. 11th Street was blocked off.  Crime scene tape was strung across the front yard of a house at 115 E. 11th Street.  A K-9 was brought in to track down the shooter, but lost the track early on. A warranted search was conducted of the house.

As yet no motives for the shooting were revealed and no suspects named.
