Updated! Downtown Salisbury: Break-in Monday Morning at the Smoke Pit on E. Innes Street. Burglar Grabs $2,000 in Packaged Meat

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that The Smoke Pit Restaurant, at 109 E. Innes Street in Downtown Salisbury was the victim of a “burglary-forcible entry” where a burglar entered through a door using a prying tool to jimmy it open.  The burglar stole $2,000 in packaged meat and caused $500 worth of damage to the entry door.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 8:48 a.m. and brought police to the address.

Other thefts of meat have been made since December 20th. The losses of all the meat thefts appears to be $5,000.
