♦ Just last Tuesday Salisbury Police sources reported Daniel Pastor Cruz-Najar, 16, was arrested at 6:05 p.m. for an alleged attempted common law robbery (felony) at the Lakeview Apartment Homes on 500 Lakeview Drive in Salisbury. He along with two other young men allegedly attempted to rob Joni Owens, 56, of Ashbrook Rd. of her purse in the West End Plaza Parking lot. The trio ran toward Badcock Furniture. The Police caught up with Cruz-Najar a short time later.

Owens was alleged to have positively IDed Cruz-Najar. Under a secured $5,000 bond, Cruz-Najar is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.

But Cruz-Najar’s troubles didn’t end there.  On Thursday December 21st Cruz-Najar was arrested again while he was still in captivity for an alleged armed robbery on Julia Drive and charged with “robbery with firearms  or other dangerous weapons”.  The full details of the Julia Drive robbery are posted below in a RFP article from December 18th.
