Update! Rowan County: Man Shot Saturday Night in Alleged Dispute on Mount Hope Church Rd. Transported to North East Medical Center

♦ According to Rowan County Sheriff’s Office sources Dusty Jackson Bryant, 35, was allegedly shot by a neighbor Joshua Daniel Harrington, 26, of 4595 Mt. Hope Church road (near Pop Stirewalt Road) in rural Rowan County. The shooting occurred at around 10 p.m. Saturday night. Bryant suffered a single gunshot wound to his left knee and was transported by Rowan County EMS to North East Medical Center.  The gunshot wound was said to be non-life threatening.

According to reports a dispute was triggered by Harrington allegedly shining a light on Bryant’s home. Bryant and his wife Carla went to Harrington’s home at 4595 Mt. Hope Road to confront him prior to the shooting. A Smith & Wesson .380 semi-automatic handgun, allegedly employed by Harrington in the shooting, was seized by Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies along with a handgun magazine and a number of shell casings found at the crime scene on Mt. Hope Road.

At the time of this report no charges were filed yet in the case. Investigators will provide evidence and the case’s facts to the Rowan County District Attorney on Monday.
