♦ Salisbury Police sources reported the Rite Aid Pharmacy at 1605 E. Innes Street in Salisbury was the victim of a “larceny-shoplifting” Thursday afternoon.  A male suspect moved quickly to take advantage of lapse in store personnel alertness by grabbing a sizeable amount of the opioid painkiller Hydrocodone valued at $1,209.61. and slipping out of the store before personnel noticed it was gone Thursday.  Fortunately the pharmacy’s security video caught the thief’s activity.  Identifying video camera stills are posted below.  No injuries were reported during the episode.  The suspect was alleged to drive off in a green SUV.

Hydrocodone is a potent semi-synthetic opioid pain-killer narcotic prized by addicts.

The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 5:02 p.m. and brought a swift police response.
