♦ On Wednesday November 8th our friend Tom Harrell, 92, and a veteran of World War II’s China, Burma, and India campaign, was bestowed the State of North Carolina’s highest honor, the prestigious “Order of the Long Leaf Pine” by Rep. Carl Ford at the Veteran’s Coffee Shop in “Thelma’s Down Home Cooking” at the West End Plaza in Salisbury.

I spoke with Tom today and thanked him for all he’s done for veterans, the coffee growers of the world, and for his service to his country.  A really great guy.
