Updated! Salisbury: Gunman Opens Fire Tuesday Afternoon During Gun Assault at 1523 North Main Street

♦ The daily reports of gunfire and sirens being heard throughout crime ridden Salisbury, N.C. continues.  According to Salisbury Police sources four persons gathered on a porch and a passerby were victims of an “assault-gun” and “vandalism” at 1523 North Main Street on Tuesday. A light-skinned Black male with dreadlocks, hanging out of a car window on the passenger side, threatened them and fired a handgun from a passing compact gray Nissan, damaging an exterior wall of the home. (Damage estimated at $100). A female bystander, walking nearby on N. Main Street, was forced to dive for cover.

Police investigators arriving on the scene found shell casings and listed 5 victims: Goldie Chapman, 55, of Woodleaf Road, Salisbury, Tijuana Hooker, 44, a resident of 1523 N. Main Street, Austin Coleman, W. 14th Street, Salisbury, Quantus Gaither, of 1523 N. Main Street, and Preston Dalton, of W. Liberty Street, Salisbury.  No injuries were recorded.  The crime was reported to 911 dispatch at 12:45 p.m.

The victims of the drive-by shooting said they had no idea of who was shooting at them or their motive.

The case remains open.  No suspects presently named.
