♦ According to Rowan County Sheriff’s Office sources 3 men were arrested at around 2:00 a.m. at 845 E. Innes Street for allegedly robbing a Rowan County Sheriff’s Office undercover narcotics operative at gunpoint and kidnapping him in a fast food joint’s parking lot. (845 E. Innes Street is close by Burger King and Cook Out whose two parking lots are alive with late night activity) Arrested were Donald Tiberio Armstrong, 36, of 918 3rd Street, Spencer, Tyrese Jamale Stiller, 18, of 35 Knox Street, Salisbury, and John Michael Sheehan, 36, of 1623 Wiltshire Road, Salisbury.

The Sheriff’s Office undercover narcotics operative had a prior arrangement to hook up with the 3 suspects in the fast food restaurant’s parking lot. When the trio showed up, the undercover
operative climbed into the suspect’s vehicle. The trio had other intentions than a sale. A pistol was leveled on the undercover operative and he was relieved of his 9mm Glock handgun and $1,561 in cash. In the eyes of the law the deputy was kidnapped the moment he was driven off the lot.

The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office looks out for their own. Their surveillance team, used to operating in tight spots, swooped down on the bandits and confronted them with drawn guns. The trio was quickly handcuffed and taken into custody.
