Salisbury: Shot in Three Stars Mini-Mart Lot on N. Main Street Saturday Evening, Man Dies at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center

♦ Another Saturday night murder in Salisbury as the body count keeps rising in the 9th most dangerous city in North Carolina according to two websites who base their rankings on FBI UCR crime statistics.

According to Salisbury Police sources and North Main area residents, Jeffrey Allen Ramsey, Jr., 24, of 1300 Montgomery Avenue, Albermarle was shot during an alleged drug deal gone south in the parking lot area of the Three Stars Mini-Mart (formerly known as the M & L Mini Mart) at 1130 N. Main Street near 11th Street.  (The drug deal has not yet been officially confirmed)  The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. when Ramsey and a woman friend Shelly Keller Ferguson, 30, of Arrowhead Circle, Salisbury were allegedly making a drug deal with the suspect who pulled a handgun on the Ramsey and shot him in the chest while in his vehicle.  The shooter fled the area. 

The police were dispatched to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center at 7:41 p.m. on the report of a man arriving at the E.R. with a gunshot wound. Ramsey, bleeding profusely, was driven by a friend Shelly Keller Ferguson to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center where he expired before he could be transported to a major trauma hospital in Winston-Salem.

It is believed the police are aware of the shooter’s identity.  Three Stars Mini-Mart is well-equipped with security cameras.

This murder case is under intensive investigation.
