♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Angela Marie Hiatt, 34, of the streets of Salisbury, was the victim of “larceny–all other” by a stranger who stole her pocketbook, phone charger, SS card, $400 in cash, Alcatel/One Touch cell phone, her N.C. ID, an Express credit card, Medicaid card, and her birth certificate. Total value of the stolen items and cash was $577 (See the items and their value in the manifest listed below). The crime was committed in Cannon Park on 611 Park Avenue and was reported to 911 dispatch at 3:25 p.m. on Friday. Hiatt was not injured according to reports and it is unknown if drugs were involved.

Unconfirmed neighborhood reports allege Hiatt sometimes roosts by the Cannon Park Gazebo.

Cannon Park at 611 Park Avenue has long been known as a crime hotspot for narcotics sales, persons overdosing, and miscreants preying on homeless persons and hapless strangers entering the park.  In late May the Gazebo in Salisbury’s Cannon Park drew national and international attention when it was scene of 3 teenagers allegedly attempting to kill a homeless man fleeing a thwarted video beating in Cannon Park:
