Salisbury: Woman Assaulted During One-Man Home Invasion Sunday on Emerson Lane. Ex-Boyfriend Scoots with Her SUV and .38 Revolver

♦ Some of our readers make a regular habit of reading our links to the Salisbury Police Department and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.  Patiently going through the daily bulletins and events can provide a picture of the incredible amount of violent and property crime going on in Salisbury and in some areas of the county.  Many of you have contacted us about staggering amount of violence against females, domestic or other.  Much violence we see against females, whether its by strangers or falls into the category of domestic violence, is driven by drug and alcohol abuse.  In fact an overwhelmingly large amount of crime period in Salisbury and Rowan County is driven by drugs and alcohol.  Observe what is often found on folks during arrest searches: drug paraphernalia, meth, heroin, crack, opioid pills, and open containers of alcohol beverages.

Please realize that many domestic disputes that go haywire are fueled by controlled substances and alcohol.  We are not implying that the persons in the report below were under the influence of any substances or alcohol.  There was no mention of any intoxicants in the police reports that crossed our desks.

According to Salisbury Police sources Boaolia Alverez, 35, living at 120 Emerson Lane in Salisbury, was the victim of an “assault-gun”, “larceny-all other,” “motor vehicle theft-automobile” and “assault-simple physical” this past Sunday.  Opening her front door for an ex-boyfriend, he allegedly forced his way into her apartment and physically assaulted her, overpowering her for her .38 Special Taurus Revolver and the keys to her 2006 Pontiac Torrent 4-door SUV.  Alverez called 911 dispatch at 9:02 a.m. and the Salisbury Police arrived a short time later.

Stolen were car keys (valued at $5.00), a .38 Taurus revolver (valued at $500), and a 2006 Pontiac Torrent 4-door SUV (valued at $5,000).

The case remains open.  No one has been arrested at this time.
