♦ The City of Salisbury was relatively quiet last night except for a pair of helicopters circling over the Downtown area for almost 3 hours.  Riot squads, from other jurisdictions, were on call, but no riots materialized.  The streets of Downtown were empty last night–even more ghostly than usual.  The only activity was the sound of chopper blades thrumming in the moonlit skies overhead.

Salisbury Police sources reported that Bradley Weant, 51, living on E. Horah Street and Jeffrey Weant, 55, living at 1614 N. Lee Street,  were victims of an “all other shooting into an occupied property” at 1614 N. Lee Street in Salisbury.  The shooting was reported to 911 dispatch at 9:56 p.m.  Officers arrived a short time later and reported that Jeffrey and Bradley Weant were not injured, but that a screen door and a storm door were damaged by an undetermined firearm as was an interior wall.  The total damage to the doors and window was assessed at $300.

The Weants had no idea who would’ve shot at either them or the house.

At this time the police have yet to name a motive or a suspect in this shooting.
