Salisbury: Marjo Lavon Edwards Knifed and Robbed of $60 Friday on E. Liberty Street. Transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Marjo Lavon Edwards, 42, of 816 Park Avenue in Salisbury, was a victim Wednesday of assault–knife in a park area at 505 E. Liberty Street and robbed of $60 by an unidentified assailant.  The stabbing was reported to 911 dispatch at 5:59 p.m. on Friday although the actual stabbing happened on May 3rd.  Edwards was stabbed twice in the stomach and his intestine was punctured. He attempted self-treatment and his wounds became infected before a family member contacted the police. On Friday he was transported to Novant Health Rowan Medical Center for treatment. Later Edwards was helicoptered to Wake Forest Baptist Hospital. His current condition is unknown.

The case remains under investigation. No suspects have been named.
