Salisbury: Grace Street Carjacking Wednesday Night. Assaulted with a Blunt Object, Man Watches the Carjacker Drive Off with His Car

♦ Salisbury Police sources report that Marzell Parker, Jr., 20, of Laura Street in Asheboro, N.C., was the victim of a robbery–other weapon on Wednesday night.  Mr. Parker was assaulted with a blunt object by a carjacker in front of 738 Grace Street before the perpetrator forcefully took over Parker’s black Mitsubishi Eclipse and sped away. Shaken by the incident, Mr. Parker sustained no injuries during the hostile takeover. His car, valued at $4,500, was recovered later in the evening.

Two neighbors reported hearing shots fired during the carjacking and claim that officers were picking up shell casings in the street. This not yet officially confirmed.

The carjacking remains under active investigation. No description of the carjacker is yet available.
