♦ At approximately 8 p.m. much gunfire broke out on 300 to 500 hundred block of South Shaver. Neighbors reported seeing a woman and a man fleeing from a group of 6 young men firing shots in pursuit.
Later, Salisbury Police Captain Sheila Lingle told our reporter on the scene that two men were in custody.

Christopher Evandol Evans, 26, and Edwina Agnew, 36, were shot and were transported to Novant Rowan Regional Medical Center for treatment and later transferred to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Their wounds were non-life threatening.

No motives for the shootings were provided so far.
Several vehicles, parked near the crime scene at 502 South Shaver, were struck by bullets. Shots were also fired into a house at 316 S. Shaver. Officers searched with flashlights along South Shaver from the 300 block to the 500 block for shell casings.
The Salisbury Police Department was supported on the scene by the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, the N.C. Highway Patrol, and the Salisbury Fire Department.
