♦ Most murders and armed robberies are committed with stolen firearms.  Those firearms are often obtained through breaking into vehicles, homes, gun shops and pawn shops.  Home and vehicle owners best exercise caution in storing and securing their firearms especially if they live in Salisbury or in Rowan County where criminals are on the prowl for ammo and guns. Expensive firearms also may be sold or bartered for drugs.  If you have a large firearms collection be careful to whom you show it.  Store you weapons out of sight if you have service people coming to your home.  Word gets out.

Salisbury Police sources report Deborah Staley, 41, was the victim of a burglary–forcible entry at her home on the 200 block of Milford Hills Road.  The crime was reported at 6:16 p.m. on Sunday.  The burglar forced open a window to gain entry.  A KEL-TEC P-11 pistol was stolen.  It’s estimated value was $255.
