♦ Rowan County Sheriff’s Office sources report that Quamesha Djonte Sifford, 23, on the Sheriff’s Most Wanted List, was arrested Thursday at a home on 115 Knoll View Drive in Salisbury.  After receiving an anonymous tip, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office deputies searched the house and found Sifford hiding in a closet behind a pile of dirty clothes.  Deputies became increasingly suspicious when the home’s two occupants, Vincia Allison and Anthony Jones insisted that Sifford was not on the premises and would not let officers in.

After smelling marijuana, the deputies removed Allison and Jones, loudly protesting at this point, from the home and obtained a search warrant.  The deputies found Sifford a short time later in the closet.

Trouble began for Sifford on July 31st, 2015 when she was arrested during a traffic stop and charged with possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver cocaine (felony).  A federal grand jury indictment came later.  Sifford was charged with conspiracy to distribute cocaine base and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.  A warrant for Sifford’s arrest was issued on August 30th of 2016.  She was placed on the Sheriff’s Most Wanted List in December.

After a brief hold in the Rowan County Detention Center, Sifford was turned over to the federal authorities.
