A 911 dispatch went out at 1:37 a.m. and the Salisbury Police, Rowan County Sheriff’s Office, and emergency responders arrived soon afterwards.   Later in the morning 7 year-old A’Yanna Allen died in a related shooting into a home on 200 Harrel Street. The child died at the scene.  The child’s grandmother Shirley Robinson, 56, was shot in the leg.  Both the child and the grandmother were sleeping in the same bed when bullets struck their home.

According to people in the area the second shooting was an alleged vengeance shooting for what happened outside the Firewater Lounge.

The State Bureau of Investigation joined the Salisbury Police in the investigation this morning.
