GUN TROUBLE in SALISBURY: Woman Held-Up on Old Concord Road and a Felon Busted with an Alleged Handgun on “Old Plank”

♦ In the notorious Dodge City of the Piedmont, Salisbury, N.C. where Otto Wood was gunned down in 1930’s by the Chief of the Salisbury Police (a man’s man who never tampered with stats or swilled Hillbilly Heroin) and where now gunshots can be heard almost nightly, a woman was allegedly held up Sunday at gunpoint on Old Concord Road and a felon was arrested Monday with a concealed handgun on “Old Plank”.

On Sunday at 4 a.m. a call went out to the Salisbury Police that Shanna Pearson, 30, living at the Willow Oak Apartments on the 1300 block of Old Concord Road in Salisbury was roughed up at gunpoint and robbed of $40 dollars.

The assault with a gun remains under investigation. No arrests yet and no suspects.

Monday at 9:30 p.m. Malcolm Raheem Toomer, 23, a felon living on South Ellis Street in Salisbury, was stopped with another man by the Salisbury Police for allegedly holding an open beer in front of 1131 Old Plank Road. As the officer explained the illegality of an open beer he noticed that Toomer walked behind the Patrol car and placed something on the ground. The officer got out of his vehicle and found a Kel-tec-P11 9mm semi-automatic handgun. Toomer was in trouble.

Toomer was arrested and charged with weapons possession by a felon of firearms etc. prohibited (felony) and carry concealed pistol/gun (misdemeanor). Under a secured $20,000 bond, Toomer is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.
