Salisbury: Minor Arrested Friday for Allegedly Shooting into an Occupied Property on the 2100 Block of S. Jake Alexander Near Ivy Street

♦ In the gun violence plagued area around South Jake Alexander Boulevard and Ivy Street in Salisbury a 15 year-old Black male from Salisbury was arrested early Friday morning for shooting into a wood frame apartment building on the 2100 block of South Jake Alexander Boulevard around the corner from the Ivy Street shootings reported in the Rowan Free Press on June 27th. No injuries were reported although the property sustained damage. The youth allegedly fired into the apartment building with a handgun.

The teenager was charged with possession with a handgun by a minor (misdemeanor), discharging a weapon into an occupied property (felony), and discharging of a firearm inside the city limits (misdemeanor). Under a secured $5,000 bond, the youth was placed in the Rowan County Detention Center.
