Freddy Ross Woody, 63, of Rowan County, Arrested Thursday for Alleged Cyber-Sex Crimes Involving Child Pornography

♦ Freddy Ross Woody, 63, of the 4100 block of Goodman Lake Road in Rowan County, was arrested by Rowan County Sheriff’s investigators at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at his home for alleged cyber-sex crimes involving child pornography with out-of-state children.

Woody was charged with 8 counts of 3rd degree sexual exploitation of a minor (felony).  Under a secured $80,000 bond, Woody is being held in the Rowan County Detention Center.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation of Woody began June 5th when Rowan investigators were informed by the NC SBI and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that Woody was allegedly involved in child pornography.  After obtaining warrants, Sheriff’s Office investigators allegedly found child pornography images on Woody’s home computer.
