Sheriff’s Office Deputies Arrest Alleged Texas Killer and Convicted Iowa Rapist Eric Warren McLendon Tuesday in Salisbury Area

♦ Tuesday the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office arrested alleged Texas killer and convicted Iowa rapist Eric Warren McLendon, 51, hiding out at 1435 West Ridge Road in the Salisbury area.

McClendon was wanted by the Dallas Police Department for the alleged murder of 32 year-old woman beaten to death inside a Dallas home on March 3rd of this year.  The Dallas Police Department requested assistance of the Rowan Sheriff’s Office in locating McLendon, a registered sex offender, believed to be in the Salisbury area.  Dallas Police Department Detectives traveled from Texas to join forces with Rowan Sheriff’s Office investigators.

Yesterday warrants were served on McLendon.  The alleged killer was arrested and placed in the Rowan County Detention Center with no bond.  He was charged with being a fugitive from justice (felony).  He will remain in the Rowan County Detention Center  until he is extradited back to Dallas, Texas to face murder charges.
